Congressman Bob Dold holds Interactive Federal Budget Forum

Date and Time:

Monday, August 27, 2012 - 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Address:

College of Lake County – South Lake Campus
1120 S. Milwaukee Conference Center - upstairs
Vernon Hills, IL

Summary:

This month Congressman Dold will host a workshop to address federal budget concerns facing our nation today.  Helping to lead the discussion will be representatives from The Concord Coalition - a nationwide, non-partisan, grassroots organization advocating generationally responsible fiscal policy.

This event seeks to educate attendees on the current state of our economy, the national debt and the consequences associated with running government deficits.  Hands-on activities, stressing the importance of thoughtful decision-making in addressing our federal budget, will encourage participants to see through the lens of a Congressional representative in mock-allocating federal spending.  The workshop will provide attendees with the tools to craft potential plans to alleviate the national debt, strategize on tax policy, and improve our nation’s fiscal future.

About Principles and Priorities Events:

Principles & Priorities is our flagship exercise that has been used in hundreds of High Schools, Colleges and Universities across the country. In it, participants make decisions about the best combination of program spending and tax policies to match with their larger sense of what the principles behind our budgets should be and what priorities the government should place at the forefront of fiscal decision-making.
