Setting Priorities, Making Choices -- Fiscal Solutions Forum at Drake University

Summary:

Former U.S. Comptroller General David M. Walker, Concord Coalition Executive Director Robert L. Bixby will lead a discussion about solutions to the country’s fiscal challenges at a forum Thursday, September 30, on the campus of Drake University.  Other national experts include Douglas Holtz-Eakin, former Chief Economist, President's Council of Economic Advisors, and Tim Penny, former Congressman for the first district of Minnesota and Chair, Democratic Budget Group.

The Fiscal Solutions Forum, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., will be free and open to the public. It is co-sponsored by the Iowa Chapter of Financial Executives International, Drake University’s College of Business and Public Administration, The Concord Coalition, and the Peter G. Peterson Foundation (www.pgpf.org).

The panel will speak and answer questions from the audience on possible solutions to the large federal deficits, funding problems in the entitlement programs and the related risks to the American economy.

The event is held in Sheslow Auditorium.  According to this map link of Drake's campus, Sheslow is located in building no. 68 (directly behind the main administrative building – Old Main, building no. 51).
