New Interview Series Goes In-Depth on Federal Budget Issues
Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will be the guest this Friday on Fiscal Fridays, the new public affairs television series on the New Hampshire-based NH1 News Network.
The series gives New Hampshire primary voters and the country at large the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates on the policies they would include in their first budget as president.
Paul Steinhauser, political director and anchor for NH1, will conduct the half-hour live television interview with O’Malley at noon on Friday. It will be simulcast on 99.1 NH1 radio. A video will be available later on the NH1 website.
Fiscal Fridays debuted last week with an interview with Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who addressed Social Security, the federal budget and other fiscal issues before a live audience. It marked a rare opportunity in the 2016 campaign for a presidential candidate to respond in depth to questions about America’s pressing fiscal problems.
Fiscal Fridays is a project of First Budget, a joint nonpartisan initiative of the Campaign to Fix the Debt and The Concord Coalition that is raising public awareness of the dangers posed by the nation’s unsustainable budget policies.
Questions for O’Malley can be submitted via Twitter to @NH1News or with the hashtag #FiscalFriday.
