Greenville, N.C. — From the stock market, to budget deals the country’s finances are a big conversation right now. Students got a visit from an Eastern Carolina Congressman, who spoke to them as they worked to find some solutions to the nation’s federal deficit. . . .
The Concord Coalition organized the event to let the students work through the real life impacts of the federal government’s $20.6 trillion dollars of debt.
“Essentially the more we borrow, the more we are spending our children’s and our grandchildren’s inheritance so we think it’s really important that students be aware of the issues with the federal budget,” Concord Colaition North Carolina Coordinator Marjorie Dufek said.
