WASHINGTON — The Concord Coalition will present David Walker, Comptroller
General of the United States, with its Economic Patriot Award at The Concord
Coalition’s Fourteenth Annual Economic Patriots Dinner. The Dinner will be held
on Wednesday evening, November 14, 2007, at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
WASHINGTON — The Concord Coalition will present David Walker, Comptroller
General of the United States, with its Economic Patriot Award at The Concord
Coalition’s Fourteenth Annual Economic Patriots Dinner. The Dinner will be held
on Wednesday evening, November 14, 2007, at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
David M. Walker is the nation’s chief accountability
officer and head of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). In
honoring David Walker with this award, The Concord Coalition said: “David
Walker has demonstrated a commitment to addressing America’s long-term fiscal
outlook. Having joined us on the Fiscal Wake-Up Tour for the last two years,
The Concord Coalition is extremely honored to present David Walker with our
Economic Patriot Award in recognition of his service to the nation in the cause
of fiscal responsibility.”
The Paul E. Tsongas Economic Patriot Award honors those who
have demonstrated a commitment to fiscal and generational responsibility. The
Economic Patriot Award was created in the spirit of nonpartisanship and
integrity, which has animated The Concord Coalition from its inception.
Throughout the years, the award has been given to individuals from the world of
business, government and politics that have made lasting contributions to
America’s economic health.
After the award presentation, Concord Coalition Co-Chairmen
Warren Rudman and Bob Kerrey, Concord Coalition President Peter
G. Peterson and Concord Coalition Board member Paul Volcker will join
with U.S. Comptroller General David Walker to discuss “America’s
Impending Fiscal Crisis.”
The program portion of the dinner will begin at
approximately 8:15 p.m., at the Cotillion Ballroom in The Pierre Hotel.
