The program, entitled “Fixing the Broken Budget Process,” will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Room 210 of the Cannon House Office Building.
Discussion topics are expected to include past problems with the budget process, the federal debt limit, mandatory spending programs, pay-as-you-go rules, enforcement mechanisms, the possibility of two-year budget cycles, and other ways to promote a longer-term focus as elected officials develop tax and spending plans.
